Sales
The Sika Automotive Sales Group is divided into teams by customer: DaimlerChrysler, General Motors, New Domestics and Tier II.  The focus of each is to listen to customer requirements and relay those needs to the rest of the Sika organization, whether engineering, marketing or production. The sales force is trained in PSP (problem solving process) and works with design release engineers to find cost-effective solutions for all acoustic, bonding, reinforcing and sealing systems and procedures for current and advanced platforms.  Their role is also to maintain information systems specific to the customer.

Research  &  Development
The Sika Research and Development Team includes laboratories throughout the world. The Madison Heights facility is the headquarters for Automotive global technology.   

The focus of this group is on advancing new products and processes and providing equipment recommendations based on them. The Madison Heights laboratory has production equipment to run full-scale models of new products, ensuring a smooth transfer to the operations stage.

Marketing
The role of Marketing at Sika Corporation is focused on:

• Establishing new product initiatives based on customer needs as well as on-going product innovations
• Managing new products from development to commercialization
• Conducting material benchmarking
• Validating and optimizing the performance of Sika materials in full vehicles, under real-world operating conditions, in our Sika Technology Center

As part of the Marketing staff, the Technical Services Group utilizes the Sika Technology Center for everything from benchmarking materials to full vehicle evaluations to analytical acoustical and structural modeling. This world-class facility demonstrates Sika's commitment to remain an industry leader in the formulation, development and optimization of innovative, high performance, cost effective acoustic, bonding, reinforcing and sealing solutions.

Engineering
The Engineering Group is made up of designers and engineers in Madison Heights, Michigan and Grandview, Missouri.

Sika engineers are responsible for part design from start to finish. Their duties include material recommendations, design and validation of part design before prototype builds. They also ensure that customer needs are met once the part goes into the assembly process.

Engineers also verify bake conditions and scope out cavities to prove the sealing and production repeatability. The Sika Engineering Department is fully equipped with CAD capabilities including CATIA, Unigraphics and CAELUM.

Operations
Sika Automotive's primary operations are centered in our newest plant, in Grandview, Missouri. The plant opened in September, 1999.   

The 200,000 square-foot plant consolidates manufacturing and warehouse operations, while adding internal injection molding, plastic extrusion and vacuum forming capabilities. Our Grandview plant produces more than 225,000,000 parts per year.

Additional Sika Automotive operations are located  in Lyndhurst, New Jersey and Marion, Ohio.
